#TeaserTuesday + Opening Paragraph: Stately Pleasures by Lucy Felthouse @cw1985

Welcome to First Chapter, First Paragraph hosted by Bibliophile By The Sea as well as Teaser Tuesday hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.

This week I'm reading Stately Pleasures by Lucy Felthouse.

Here's the Opening Paragraph:

Alice took a deep breath, in through her nose and out through her mouth. Repeated the process once more. Then, realising she could sit there all day doing it and not feel any calmer, she forced herself to step out of the car and close and lock the door.

Here's the teaser:

Alice knew that voice could only belong to Jeremy Davenport. The posh accent, and the fact he’d said “enter” instead of “come in”, screamed money and an upper-class upbringing.

Thank you for stopping by. Leave me a comment and I'll return the visit shortly.

  1. He definitely sounds upper-class! And I wonder why Alice is freaking out! The cover really reminds me of Fifty Shades though! Thanks for stopping by :) I hope you have a great week!

  7. It's true. Sometimes you have to just bite the bullet and do whatever it is that you have to do, no matter how nervous you are. It's a great intro. I would keep reading just to find out what it is that has her so on edge!
