Lora
Blackgoat — mercenary and smuggler — has only just recovered from the last
threat on her life and hasn’t even begun to sort out the mess of having both a
nephilim warrior and a reborn hellspawn as potential lovers. Work should be a
refuge, but a job finding missing persons puts her in the crosshairs of a
violent gang and a merchant with a taste for blood sport.
Reluctantly, Lora turns to the two men in her life for help. Roman — the nephilim — professes to be her soul mate and turns to her when he feels the darkness of nephilim madness descending. But though Lora is drawn to Roman, it is Seth, ex-lover and reborn hellspawn, who Lora must ultimately ask to protect those she loves. Can she trust Seth to save Roman and her adoptive family, or will this be a fatal mistake?

Kay's Review
First of all, I should mention that I didn't read
the first book in the series, Chaos Born, but I managed to get the gist of this
story line pretty quickly. So you can read these stories individually or in
sequence. Your choice.
This is a kind of post-apocalyptic / futuristic /
paranormal / fantasy about demons and half-angels. Not my usual fare, but this
story surprised me and I loved it.
From the start you're pulled into a well-developed
world and the story telling is great with the first-person POV. The action just
kept coming. Lora is one helluva kick-ass heroine, earning herself the nickname
of White Death. The storyline is suspenseful with political wrangling and
betrayals and even a love triangle.
While this was an enjoyable read, there were still
some questions left unanswered at the end and you will have to pick up the next
book in the series to get a satisfactory conclusion.
Would I recommend this book? Yes? Would I read this
author again? Yes. If you love Urban Fantasy, you'll love this. Go and pick up
a copy.
